It's been a month since I launched my bunny sewing pattern and over 300 patterns have already been downloaded across the world! In this blog post I'll share customer photos of their bunnies and some of the lovely feedback I've received so far
When I launched my bunny doll sewing pattern last month I wasn't sure what to expect. I have been a full time dollmaker for the past four years and hoped that people would like my bunnies and want to learn how to make dolls with me. I never in my wildest dreams expected that bunnies would be being made from my pattern in countries as far away as Chile, New Zealand, Vietnam and South Africa!
The thing I've always loved the most about making handmade dolls (even more than choosing the fabric!) is hearing the excitement in someone's voice when they receive their doll and seeing how happy it makes them. It's such a lovely feeling that I thought would be hard to beat...until now! Seeing the bunnies you have been making with my patterns and hearing how delighted you are that you made them makes me feel so happy and inspired. I'm hooked!
It's been wonderful seeing the fabrics you've been choosing to make your bunnies with and hearing who you are making them for. I love how unique they all look, even though they are made from the same pattern
Here are some of the photos that customers have been kind enough to share with me and the feedback I've had so far. I hope you will feel as inspired as I do by them
This brown beauty was made by Lynn in the US. I adore the lovely blue floral fabric she's chosen to line the bunny's ear's with. It gives her such a lovely vintage feel, don't you think?
Alison in the UK has been busy making bunnies to give to her nieces and nephews for Easter, as well as making some to raise money to help in Ukraine. I love this little cutie she made using jersey fabric. Doesn't it make her look so cuddly and cute?
Just look at this lovely bunch!
Kristina from the US shared this photo of her bunny dressed beautifully in florals for the Spring.
Kristina told me my pattern was the best written out pattern and instructions I have ever downloaded before which I'm still smiling about now!
I love the pink fabric that Susan from the UK has chosen to make her bunny with. The whiskers make her look so cute too! Susan said: "This is my first time sewing anything and I am so happy with how my bunny turned out!! The pattern was really easy to understand, even for an absolute beginner like me. I found all the tips really helpful and really like that I can make lots of different bunnies with the same pattern. I can’t wait to make more!"
There is something so soft and gentle about this sweet sleepy bunny that Susan in the US made. The bunny pattern comes with templates to sew open or closed eyes on the bunny, and it makes such a difference to the personality of the bunny!
I've got a bit of a crush on the fabric that June in the UK chose for her bunny's dress! June said: "I'm so happy with how my bunny turned out! The instructions were really helpful and easy to follow. I can't wait to make another one!"
Another sleepy bunny made by Marilyn in the UK. I love her floral ears. Marilyn said: "I can't recommend this pattern enough. It is so well written and easy to follow. I made this bunny for an easter gift and have already started on some more!"
Mariah from the US made this sweet pair. I love the extra outfits she has made them
Another cute pair made by Mikayla in the US. They look like they are best friends!
This adorable couple were made by Maria in Guatemala. I love their outfits! I can just imagine them going to a dance together
I love these bunnies that Miss Bonecaria made. They look perfect for the Spring!
Gemma in the UK made these sweet bunnies for her daughters. Those floral fabrics are just gorgeous!
This sweet little bunny was shared by Carole from Belgium. She said "Very easy to achieve, my daughter and niece are fans!"
These are just some of the lovely photos and comments that have been shared with me this month. I've been trying to include them all in a folder on my Instagram profile if you would like to see some more.
The thing that makes me most happy to hear is that people who are learning to sew are finding my pattern easy to use. It was important to me when I was designing it to include as much detail as I could so I could share all the lessons I've learnt over the years. The pattern has step-by-step photographs and instructions as well as lots of little tips for getting the best results.
Molly from the US said: "This pattern is great! I'm a beginner at using a sewing machine and the instructions are clear and easy to follow!" and Poliane from Brazil said: "Perfect! I loved the explanations! super easy!"
Everyone who buys one of my doll sewing patterns is invited to join a private Facebook group where I share more tips and people can ask questions. I've been making videos to demonstrate how I make my dolls with the group. There are almost 70 members so far. It's really lovely to see the community grow and I hope it becomes a useful resource for everyone who buys one of my patterns.
I am feeling so inspired seeing all the bunnies that you have been making this month. I am grateful to everyone who has shared a photo, their feedback or a review. As a way of saying thank you I thought it would be fun to launch a little giveaway called Maker of the Month.
Each month I will collect all of the photos you have shared of your dolls made with my pattern and I will let my daughter Seren choose one person to win one of my sewing patterns. The winner can choose a sewing pattern in my shop or wait until a new one is released. I'm hoping to launch at least a couple of new sewing patterns each month so there will be lots of new patterns to choose from soon!
You can share your photos with me by leaving a review (this helps my little business so much), tag me @studioserenpatterns in a post or story on Instagram or share a photo in the customer facebook community. I'll choose a winner at the end of each month starting with April. This month I will include all the photos that were shared with me in March too. I can't see what you make!

What a beautifully written blog post. I look forward to your next one. I haven’t managed to make one of your sweet bunnies yet, but hope to in the next couple of weeks as the weather turns here in New Zealand and indoor activities become more appealing :)
