Get your dolls ready for bedtime with cute pyjama and sleep mask sewing pattern. The pyjamas and sleep mask fit all Studio Seren animal dolls. Choose to make the pyjamas with short or long sleeves, and pair them with trousers or shorts. The tutorial includes step-by-step photographs and detailed instructions.

This is an intermediate-level sewing pattern. Sewing sleeves on doll clothes is tricky and may require practice, but the end result is worth the effort. Read more about the experience rating for this and other patterns here

    Materials and tools

    To make this outfit you will need...
    • Half a yard or metre of light-medium weight cotton fabric for the pyjamas
    • 12” x 5 1/2” (30.5 x 14cm) of cotton fabric for the sleep mask
    • 6” x 3 1/2” (15.2 x 9cm) of wadding/batting for the sleep mask
    • 4 3/8”” (11cm) of 1/4” (6mm) wide sew-on hook and loop tape (Velcro)
    • 9” (22.9cm) of 1/4” (6mm) elastic for the trouser/shorts waistband
    7 7/8” (20cm) of 1/4” (6mm) elastic for the sleep mask strap
    • Sewing machine thread to match the dress
    • Fabric scissors
    • Paper scissors
    • Chopstick or similar long, thin stick to push out the corners in the dress
    • Iron
    • Pinking shears (optional)
    • Sewing pins
    • Seam ripper
    • Hemostats or forceps (optional)
    • Fraycheck (optional)
    • Safety pin

    • A sewing machine

    Once again, fabulous instructions! Facings...

    Once again, fabulous instructions! Facings are a bit tricky, and mine was not perfect but I appreciated that every step was so clear. I know next time I make these, that they will be even better! My little girl loves them. I think the main trick to get a smooth result is to really watch that center alignment and matching shoulder seams. I ended up topstitching mine down so it would behave. Get this pattern if you're considering it, it's a worthwhile challenge!
